چکیده
OBJECTIVE Sagittal synostosis is the most common form of isolated craniosynostosis. Although some centers have reported extensive experience with this condition, reports focused on a single center. In 2017, Synostosis Research Group (SynRG), multicenter collaborative network, was formed to study Here, authors report their early treating sagittal in network. The goals were describe practice patterns, identify variations, and generate hypotheses for future research. METHODS All patients clinical diagnosis who presented SynRG center between March 1, October 31, 2019, included. Follow-up information through 2020, Data extracted from prospectively maintained registry included baseline parameters, surgical adjuncts techniques, complications prior discharge, indications reoperation. analysis descriptive, using frequencies categorical variables means medians continuous variables. RESULTS Two hundred five had treatment at 5 different sites. One twenty-six treated strip craniectomy 79 total cranial vault remodeling. wide parietal wedge osteotomies (44%), remodeling procedure without forehead (63%). Preoperative mean cephalic indices (CIs) similar groups: 0.69 0.68 Thirteen percent other health problems. cohort, 81% received tranexamic acid required transfusion compared 94% did not receive acid. rates complication low all groups. Five (2%) an unintended change CI 0.09 0.06 remodeling; resulted greater group. CONCLUSIONS severity scaphocephaly across procedures Treatment methods varied, but both satisfactory postoperative CIs. Use may reduce need cases. technique seemed be associated CI. Both findings seem amenable testing randomized controlled trial.

Surgical treatment of premature sagittal synostosis.
A series of 50 consecutive children with premature sagittal synostosis is reported. All were treated surgically; 43 were male, 47 were leukodermic and two are siblings. In the pre-operative examination, the head shape, skull measurements and radiologic findings were evaluated; 38 children were operated on before six months of age and 12 of them, between six and 12 months of age. The surgical te...

BACKGROUND Historically, surgical treatment of children with a delayed presentation of cranial synostosis required complex cranial vault reconstruction. Recently, less invasive options for surgical correction, such as internal distraction osteogenesis, have been explored. In this study, we describe the successful management of delayed presentation of sagittal synostosis using distraction osteog...

AIMS To investigate whether sagittal synostosis (SS) has consequences for children's mental and psychomotor development, and whether surgery has any impact on this. METHODS The study involved 28 children with SS who underwent corrective surgery at a mean age of 8.0 (SD 7.16) months, and 28 normal controls. All the children with SS were assessed pre- and postoperatively using the Griffiths Men...

We report on a patient with humeroradioulnar synostosis and lambdoid synostosis. The case differs from three previously described cases in minor details, but the upper limb abnormalities are strikingly similar.
متن کاملDetermination of Cranial Index in Sagittal Synostosis using Artificial Intelligent Techniques
Background: At least one main suture of skull is closed prematurely in craniosynostosis; which may lead to different skull and face deformities and various types of child developmental delay. Increased postero-anterior diameter of skull is the main characteristic of sagittal craniosynostosis. Cranial index is the most important parameter for diagnosis and monitoring of children with this deform...
